REVIEW: 3 MONTHS WITH THE SUPERJET VP35P

A few months ago, we made the decision to expand our drainage team as we were taking an ever-increasing number of drainage maintenance calls. It’s all well and good growing the team, but we also needed to give them the right tools to do the job properly. With most of our clients based in towns and city centres, it was important for us to find a flexible, portable, yet powerful water jetting system that could clear even the toughest of blockages. We’ve now got four units fitted in our fleet, and after three months of solid use, we’ve put them through just about everything. Here’s what our engineers think of this compact but seriously capable bit of kit:
Power: Our engineers have really put the jetters through their paces, tackling a wide variety of blockages ranging from grease and food build-up to building waste and the usual culprits that shouldn’t be flushed (nappies and sanitary products). The team has been consistently impressed with the unit’s power, calibrated up to 3,000 psi—and so far, it’s handled everything thrown at it.
Usability: One of the biggest positives has been how easy the VP35P is to use. The team quickly got to grips with the controls, and the remote system has been praised for being responsive and giving clear, immediate feedback.
Noise: Many of our clients operate in retail and hospitality, so our engineers often work outside of trading hours, sometimes into the early hours. In those settings, minimising disruption is crucial. All of our engineers have commented on how quiet the jetters are. In fact, it’s often hard to hear the unit unless you’re right next to the van with the door open.
Tank Size: The one trade-off with the VP35P is the 400-litre tank. While it offers around 10 minutes of jetting time, this is more than made up for by the unit’s portability and power. For reactive jobs in tight urban spaces, it’s a smart compromise.
